The Hills
Under the guise of Hills singer-songwriter Anne-Maarten van Heuvelen plays rootsy songs with a bluesy feel.
The Black Top and NO Blues singer-bass player wrote his debut album ‘Friday the 17th’ in the spring of 2006, in between tours with his bands. The record was released under the Silver Coast label in October of the same year.
Anne-Maarten was fifteen when he bought his first bass guitar that started his musical career. The self taught bass player soon started playing in several local bands. At the age of seventeen he started writing his own songs. He lived in New York at the age of twenty three and that’s when Hills really started working on his own material. When he returned to Holland, he decided he was going to record a solo album.
After his return to Holland, Hills played with a lot of Dutch bands such as Black Top, NO Blues, the MarbleTones, Judge Abraham and the Jury, Kill City Rebel en Rude Rich and the High Notes. He also did European tours as bass player with American blues bands. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
